06.08.2010 (Tuesday) * Day 11

Good evening friends, followers and visitors!

What an amazing day I had!

First, I got over my fear of the John Deere lawn tractor. That may not seem like earth shattering news to you but it was well received by Robert. Apparently, mowing two acres with a dog trying to bite the rear tires is NOT an easy task. I don't know why I am OK with it now, but perhaps it is because it does not bother any of the other dogs. I mean, Phoenix likes to ride in Robert's lap while he mows! Of course, Phoenix is a bit out on the ledge but if you tell him I said that I'll pee in your shoes.

Secondly, I have discovered birds! Any birds; crows, vultures, blackbirds, robins, swallows, finches, quail, ducks...it doesn't matter. I don't care if they are on the ground or 200 feet in the air! I chase after them with glee, leaping into the air like Super Fly and with the biggest smile on my face you could ever imagine! Where have they been all my life? I have to be careful when I run while I am looking up into the sky after a flying specimen so I don't strain (as in go through a strainer or sieve) myself going through the horse fence at full bore! Wow, I am SO happy chasing them!

Finally, I have discovered gophers, or rather their holes! There are a million of them around and I sniff each and every one of them for recent activity; but I DON'T dig them up like Rothko. Robert watches me carefully in the event I find a "hot spot". Then it is SNIPER time for him! Think of Tom Berringer as a pudgy 58 year old (lol)!

Does life get any better.? If only Robert had a Kodak Zi8 so he could video me with my big smile while I chase the birds; you'd adopt me in a heartbeat!

Life is good! Thanks for visiting and Dog Bless!
