06.03.2010 * Day 6

Good evening followers and visitors-

Day 4 and I'm still here? I like totally expected to be adopted by now, dude; WTF, do I have cooties or something?

It was a muggy, warm, sticky day here in Sebastopol. I think I have the routine down REALLY pat. Wake up, get out of my crate to go outside and relieve myself, hop around the kitchen while Robert prepares breakfast, RUSH into my crate to eat it and afterwards, go out in the horse pasture to romp and run, while Robert tends to the horses. Those guys are SO big I do not even get close to them. After the horse tending we return to the rear yard or inside for whatever suits our fancy; a nap on a bed, a sunbath on the deck, a roll on the lawn or a hop into the water tub. I usually opt for a nap on a bed or on top of the crates by the kitchen window so I can peruse my kingdom. One never knows when I may need to sound the ALERT due to a roaming duck or inquisitive quail. The others here get really cranked up over the postperson, the UPS driver or FedEx; I don't see the big deal. They all seem pretty nice and innocuous to me; but what do I know?

Robert did a lot of weed whacking today. He has one mean blade on that thing (he has four of them). He really improved my view and I love it! I especially liked it when the 4 1/2 foot long gopher snake came out of the weeds and said, enough is enough! Robert took a picture and then moved him/her off to a safe place. The battle against overgrown vegetation is pretty constant here in the country. The visiting duck from the neighbor above made his usual appearance this evening. He seems like such a lost soul; waddles everywhere, and only has two speeds, slow and slower!

My foster mom was supposed to be here tonight but she got delayed until tomorrow after having to do a stint as Josephine, the plumber, to repair a leaky hot water recirculation line. What did we do before cell phones with cameras and the Internet? She will be here tomorrow with a resident vizsla (Gracie) I have not met, but whom I understand owns the entire top of the crates in the kitchen on which I so dearly like to lie. This is going to be an interesting weekend!

I cannot tell you how easy it has been to acclimate here. Everyone is so nice and supportive. I am enjoying myself and causing no problems; why ruin a good thing? But somehow I know this is only temporary, and I want COMMITMENT! Isn't there someone out there who wants a sweet devoted companion such as myself. I may not be purebred but I make up for it in spades with my undying devotion and love!

Peace baby! (Isn't that what Telly Savales used to say?) Am I dating myself or what?
